Welcome to the class!

Be sure to check the tabs at the top of this blog. You’ll find this month’s calendar, vocabulary lessons that we will begin at the end of the month, as well as SOL practice that you can do on your own.

Blackout Poetry

Today you will be creating blackout poetry.  Each student will receive a page from a book that was rescued from going to the trash. You may use only the page given to you (you may choose which side).  Select the words that you want to keep and cover the rest with artwork, either in black or in color. See the examples below.

Let’s walk through the note card and source card process together!

Click here to go to a sample web page. This web page could be used to argue prompt #47 about the dangers of children’s advertising.

Now click here to go to easybib.com, the website we will use to cite our sources. This will help you with source cards, parenthetical citations, and the works cited page.

You will need to sign up once you get to easybib.com. Use your school email address and remember your password!
